This is by far my favorite Iowa music based site. The caretaker is a seasoned veteran and shares his knowledge freely with one and all. Also featuring a comprehensive band database... you could lose yourself for hours and should.

Des Moines Music - Forum
A popular message board for des moines based musicians. Moderated to keep the peace.

515 Crew - Forum
Message board for bands, fans and vegans. Mainly punk and hard core. Good discussions but if you don't have a thick skin and a sense of humor, you won't like it there. Definitely a younger crowd.

Quad City Musicians
Rock message board from the Quad Cities.

Slam Omaha
Technically not Iowa but Des Moines used to have quite the incestuous relationship with Omaha until the emo kids some how took charge. Good information on the Slam Omaha site itself but the forum has a problem with trolls. Pretty funny none the less.

I've been asked why I don't list or link to the Des Moines Music Commission and I have one simple answer. They do absolutely nothing for 90% of the bands in Des Moines. It's a members only club posing as a non-profit organization. If you want more info, feel free to contact me. Zed
